Founded by Lyanne Brooks in 2004, Housing Project 360 was a dance studio, school, and community hub dedicated to House dance while welcoming a wide range of underground street and club dance styles in Hawaiʻi. Through classes, workshops, performances, events, open sessions, and community gatherings, it created opportunities for beginners, experienced dancers, and people from diverse backgrounds to learn, connect, and grow together.
By offering ongoing classes, workshops, community events, a resident performance company, student performance opportunities, and inviting and hosting internationally renowned dancers, instructors, and artists from Hawaiʻi and around the world, Housing Project 360 created opportunities for education, cultural exchange, and community while helping strengthen connections throughout Hawaiʻi and between Hawaiʻi and the broader global dance community.
In 2008, Housing Project 360 launched House Dance Hawaii, an annual freestyle House dance competition that became one of its signature community events. Held annually for more than seven years, the competition celebrated and showcased Hawaiʻi's growing House dance community while welcoming dancers from many different backgrounds.
